The Refugee Sewing Society

We are refugees who have escaped genocide. We fled from many countries -- Sudan, Somalia, Rwanda, Burundi, Burma, Bhutan, and others.Our aim is to find healing through creative arts and crafts. Our dream is to build self-sustaining businesses that will allow us to work at home while caring for our children.  While sewing, knitting, crocheting, beading and embroidering, we share joys and sorrows. Many of us have lost husbands, fathers, and children to war. We have endured great suffering. But we believe our lives have purpose and hope.

These ladies and families are striving to make a living and need help with basic items that they cannot buy with food stamps. This is a great way to help them feel welcomed and blessed with some items that they may not be able to buy.

1) personal hygiene items (toothpaste, soap, toothbrush, etc.)
2) paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc.
3) baby items (powder, lotion, wipes, etc.)
4) laundry detergent
5) basically any household items that they might need.
6) NO CAN FOODs!
